Haydn’s Creation, Lord Mayor’s Concert
Saturday, March 16th
Two distinguished, long-established musical ensembles will come together to perform Haydn’s masterpiece The Creation.
Exeter Philharmonic Choir, the city’s oldest choral ensemble, will be joined for the one-off performance by world-class musicians from the UK’s longest-established chamber orchestra, The London Mozart Players, which celebrates its 70th anniversary season in 2019.
The London Mozart Players, founded in 1949 to delight audiences with the works of Mozart and Haydn, is known for its unmistakable British roots and has developed an outstanding international reputation for adventurous, ambitious programming alongside the greatest names in classical music.
The audience will also be treated to performances from three top-class international soloists who sing regularly with ensembles such as The Sixteen, Westminster Abbey Choir and Il Fagiolini: Soprano Kirsty Hopkins, Tenor Mark Dobell, and Bass James Gower.
The concert's retiring collection will raise funds for the Lord Mayor's chosen charity, SSAFA, the armed forces charity.
Price: £14, £22, £28
