A Short History

Radio Exe is a truly local station. From our studios just outside the city centre, we broadcast to Exeter, Mid and East Devon on 107.3 FM.The station launched on Tuesday 10 January 2012 at 7.55am, when breakfast presenter Ben Clark played our first track, Billy Joel’s River of Dreams.

Previously Radio Exe had been known as Exeter FM, which was owned by London-based Asian radio network Sunrise Radio.

In June 2011, the station was taken over by Exe Broadcasting Ltd, a new company owned by local broadcasters Paul Nero and Mark Tyler.

Today Radio Exe is owned jointly by Exe Broadcasting Limited (60 per cent) and Devon Radio Ltd (40 per cent).
