Exeter City's EFL Cup group confirmed

Arsenal or Chelsea could be joining the Grecians in Group E

Exeter City are in Group E of this season's EFL Trophy, and Matt Taylor's side will face Newport County, Cheltenham Town and one invited team. The draw for the invited team will take place from 12.30pm this Friday, July 12.

The EFL Trophy group stage is divided into Northern and Southern sections, with eight groups in each section. City's group will be completed by either one of the following eight invited teams:

  • Arsenal
  • Brighton & Hove Albion
  • Chelsea
  • Fulham
  • Norwich City
  • Southampton
  • Tottenham Hotspur
  • West Ham United

Each EFL club will play two group games at home, with the invited clubs playing all three of their group games away. The top two teams from each will progress to the knock-out rounds.
