Devon born artist creates controversial Exmouth poster

A poster that parodies Exmouth is causing some controversy in the town - but also a degree of recognition that there's an element of truth in the illustration.

Jack Hurley grew up in Teignmouth. He didn't like it much, especially as a teenager. Life, he says, must have been going elsewhere. So he's created somewhat pointed posters. Exmouth's contains a drunk young women, a boy racer, and a right-wing pensioner. A plastic dinosaur is in there too.

It's all based on reality, he says. Mr Hurley visits his father there.

"Me and Exmouth go back a long way, I used to spend weekends there and thought it would be unfair to leave Exmouth out," he said. "I always thought I'd be in loads of trouble for doing these, but most people are really into them."

"Making these posters usually take about 50-60 hours, I also have to spend a lot of time taking photos of random people, looking for models,"
