Exeter man loses 12 kilos in 14 weeks

Man v Fat helped men lose 100,000 kilos across then UK

Man v Fat, a 14-week football league exclusively for men who are overweight or obese, has recently tipped the scales at 100,000lbs lost in the 29 months since the project’s launch.

The popular nation wide scheme now has more than 8,000 players in more than 60 leagues across the country.

Man v Fat are working in partnership with Exeter City Community Trust and Get Active Exeter to deliver the Exeter league. For the very first time, it launched at St James Park last January. It ran every Friday evening from 8pm-10pm at the Cliff Hill Training Ground. It costs just £9.99 to register and games cost £5 per week. 

Steve Walking, 47, joined the Exeter Man v Fat League earlier this year. During his time on the programme he lost 12 kilos over the course of the 14 weeks. Watch his story, filmed at the Cat & Fiddle training ground in Exeter, below:
