Exeter to stage another half marathon

Due to high demand organisers of the Exeter half-marathon have added an additional race

Due to the over whelming entry requests to the Exeter half marathon, which ran over two days in February, Exeter City Community Trust have added a new event into their race calendar for 2019.

Pete Ferlie, Race Director from City Community Trust, said: "Entry has opened today inviting runners to be part of the running festival on the 19th May & join the Exeter Live Better Marathon route for 13.1 miles'."

Runners will be completing the half marathon distance over a one lap course, providing a great opportunity to chase your PB or for novice runners looking to complete their first event. The route is along a great flat, almost, traffic free course run mainly on the footpaths and cycle tracks around the River Exe and Exeter Canal.

This additional event also provides an opportunity for the many disappointed runners who weren't able to join the previous events due to being sold out ahead of expected timescales or those who had pulled out due to injury.

Runners will be offered the opportunity to receive sponsorship information from either City Community Trust or one of their four Charity Partners Age UK Exeter, Children’s Hospice South West, Julian House or Force Cancer. Sponsorship is not required to enter the event with many runners preferring to choose a charity close to their own hearts.
