Dawlish Warren beach

Today (18th April 2018) is the hottest day of the year so far in Devon.

Beaches are expected to be packed this weekend as the county is bathed in five days of warm weather. The Met Office have warned people to protect themselves from the scorching sun.

Any patchy cloud will readily clear to leave a fine and warm day with long spells of sunshine. Winds will be brisk, especially around the south coast, so it will feel cooler here. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Dry and breezy overnight, although winds will ease through the early hours. Turning chilly towards dawn with some patchy mist and fog. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Thursday is generally fine, warm and sunny, although cooler around the coasts with gentle sea breezes. Somewhat cloudier in the far west. Maximum temperature 22 °C.
