Lessons learned after boy dies from Sepsis

Devon's NHS says work's underway to improve the care of patients with a disease called Sepsis, which is a widespread inflamation caused by an infection.

The drive's been launched after a damning report on how a three year old boy died from a catalogue of failures.

Cricketfield GP Surgery, NHS Direct, Devon Doctors and the South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust ... were all criticised for errors in their care of Sam Morrish, from Newton Abbot.

The Deputy Director of Nursing for NHS England in Devon, Susan Bracefield, says a so called 'pathway of care' has been developed, to ensure better co-ordination.
