Part of man's finger bitten off in dog attack

The 'dangerously out of control' dog was off its lead in North Devon

Police are appealing for witnesses after a dog bit off part of a man's finger.

It happened on Good Friday at around 11 o'clock on Jones's Hill, Croyde, when a 55-year-old man was bitten by a collie-type dog, which was off its lead.

Officers are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with CCTV, to help find the male owner. The is described as a white, around 50-years-old and around 5 foot 10 with brown, thinning hair. He was wearing a blue shirt and trousers and was in the company of two other adult males at the time of the incident.
