Police give drug-drive warning
Kingsbridge police say driving under the influence of drugs should be as socially unacceptable as drink driving.
It comes after they've been called to crashes involving the same driver within 24 hours.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, they went to a collision on the A381 by Torr Quarry where a vehicle had flipped over several times. The driver of the white Seat car miraculously received no injuries but wrote off the vehicle. Police say the were surprised that he managed to walk away unharmed.

Kingsbridge police have reminded motorists there is a legal limit for drug use when driving, including drugs for medical use as well as illicit substances. It is a criminal offence to drive, attempt to drive or be in charge of a motor vehicle on a road or other public place with a specified controlled drug in the body. Heroin, ecstasy, crystal meth, LSD, ketamine, cannabis, cocaine or benzoylecgonine in your system could leave drivers liable to prosecution. Police can take swab at the roadside and test for drugs, like a breathalyser tests for alcohol.
