Sheeps Tor for sale

You'll have to share it with everyone else

A famous Devon tor is up for sale, along with 120 acres of moorland around it.

Sheeps Tor is around six miles north of Plymouth and can be yours if the hammer comes down on your bid at auction. The guide price is £145,000.

A scheduled monument, the Yellowmead stone circle,  comes with the it, as do stunning views, grazing land, and lots of walkers trampling across your land.

That's because even though you'll own Sheeps Tor, it's part of the Dartmoor National Park, so it's also land for everyone to enjoy.

It last changed hands in 2004. Auctioneers Symonds and Sampson say the passing of the years means the current owner is now unable to enjoy their property as much as before.

Ross Willmington from the firm told BBC Spotlight: "You cannot stop other people going on it....[but] if you climb to the top you would appreciate why you would want to own it."

He added: "You are a custodian of it, it's about looking after it for the next generation."

The online auction takes place Friday on 21 May.
