New Adventures in Soul...
We're completely overjoyed to announce a brand new night of soul, funk and disco delights in Devon, providing a much-needed regular night of soul and funk music in this part of the country.
John Bongo (Devon Funk & Soul Club) and Mark S (South Coast Funk and Groove Society) will spin classic tunes from the last 7 decades, from a wide spectrum of genres including 60's soul, northern soul, funk, jazz-funk, and 70's & 80's disco. It's all about dancing, singing and smiling.
The Kings Arms in Stockland welcome our new adventures in soul - we're lucky to find such a great new venue, and we look forward to bringing you a regular monthly session here, as much as the King's Arms is looking forward to having us there.
There's a good-sized dance floor, an adjoining lounge bar away from the main room for you to chill out and chat in (with a great selection of local beers), and a lovely beer garden just outside the doors where you can bask in the evening sun and still hear our summer soul tunes - and all this is for our own use.
The pub does have a limited amount of rooms available for overnight stays (book early!), and there is also plenty of nearby accommodation. And it's all only 10 minutes from the A30.
Entry for the night is a mere £6 (+50p per order when booked online).
Our first outing is on Saturday 20th August, doors open 8pm for a midnight finish. We can't wait to see you there! 🤩
