Two conservation charities have joined forces to save hundreds of acres of ancient woodland on the edge of Dartmoor.
Fingle Woods are bordered by two National Trust properties but much of the woodland is closed to the public.
Now the National Trust and The Woodland Trust are to buy and transform 825 acres of the land.
They'll restore the ancient woodland by removing more recent conifer plantations which suppress natural habitats... and open up the woods for public access.
