Firefighters tackling blaze on Magdalen Street
A bin lorry has caught fire in Exeter this morning.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue were called to the scene on Magdalen Road just before seven o'clock.
They have confirmed the blaze involves rubbish inside of the refuse collector.
It is well alight but a hydraulic failure means nobody can access the waste compartment.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Crews from Danes Castle and Middlemoor were immediately mobilised and are at work with 2x ground monitors, 50mil hose and 2x breathing apparatus to externally cool the vehicle."
