They want to stop massive installation
A Devon campaign group has launched a crowd funding page to help them defeat plans to build one of the UK's largest solar farms in the county.
The scheme would see 1.8 million solar panels on farmland at Beacon Heath and more than 300 concerned residents attended a public meeting in Holsworthy last Friday to discuss how to fight plans by Galileo Empower which would stretch for four and a half miles.
The proposals are being opposed by campaign group Stop Beacon Solar and Torridge and Tavistock MP Sir Geofrey Cox - who is also a barrister - has said he will put together a legal case against the application.
At the meeting, residents were urged to start building a battle fund now, and a Just Giving Page has been launched.
Galileo Empower, who said the project would play a key role in helping the UK meet its net zero targets, are carrying out detailed studies and assessments before submitting their application in 2027.
