Owner assaulted too
A chihuahua has been killed after running into the road following an attack by an XL Bully-type dog in Plymouth.
The incident in Millbay Road last Tuesday (3 June) also involved the dog's owner being assaulted by the woman walking the larger dog.
The XL bully, or similar, is said to have been out-of-control.
Following the initial attack some time before 8.30om, the chihuahua was fatally struck by a blue Ford Fiesta which failed to stop.
It was also reported that the owner of the XL bully type dog assaulted the chihuahua’s owner before leaving the scene.
The woman suspected of carrying out the assault was with a man at the time. Neither has been identified.
Police are asking witnesses or anyone with relevant footage which may help to call them on 101.
