Sergeant James Rawlinson will appear at Plymouth Magistrates'
A Devon & Cornwall Police has been charged with rape.
36-year-old Sergeant James Rawlinson has been postal requisitioned in connection with one charge of rape of a woman aged 16 years or over.
It relates to a reported incident in Exeter in August 2018 while the officer was off duty.
Sgt Rawlinson, who is based in Exeter, is currently suspended from duty and he is due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
