It's claimed that thousands of children in Exeter, and mid and east Devon, who live in poverty are still missing out on free school meals.
The Children's Society has compared the number of children estimated to be living on or below the poverty line with the number registered for free meals in each parliamentary constituency.
It found that in Exeter there was a discrepancy of fourteen hundred, in East Devon nine hundred, and in Tiverton, twelve hundred.
The charity says many children can't get free school meals because their parents work... regardless of how little they earn.
