Exeter's RD & E hospital has been singled out in a report on those with the worst problems of so-called bed blocking.
A report for MPs found that more than 20 thousand 'bed days' were lost there in the last year because people who were medically fit to leave had nowhere else to go.
The report accuses ministers of a striking lack of ambition to tackle the problem on a national level, even though it wastes millions of pounds of taxpayers' money.
