Ikea store and housing plans go on public display

Plans by Ikea to build a huge new store on the outskirts of Exeter and more than 200 homes nearby are on display for the next two days, as the Swedish company gauges public opinion on its proposals.

The store and housing development will be built on land bounded by the A379, Newcourt Way and the railway line near Sandy Park rugby ground.

Ikea will submit a formal planning application after receiving feedback on the proposals.

The plans are on display at Sandy Park rugby ground today and in the Guildhall tomorrow.
