MP criticises Theresa May over executive pay U-turn

The MP for Exeter has hit out at the Prime Minister for backing down on her promise to tackle excessive executive pay.

Theresa May had said executives who earn a fortune would be held to account by workers - and that senior pay packages would have to be approved by shareholders at an annual vote.

But now it's emerged that companies will just have to publish information on pay, without giving shareholders any say on the issue.

Ben Bradshaw says it's a disappointing U-turn on an issue which urgently needs action to tackle the extreme pay gap in many workplaces.
