MP supports manifesto for cats

The MP for Tiverton and Honiton has hosted the launch of the UK's first manifesto for cats.

Neil Parish, a cat-owner himself, unveiled a 10-point document at Westminster earlier this week on behalf of the charity Cats Protection.

They'll be calling on whoever wins the General Election to promote cat welfare, by controlling irresponsible cat breeding and sales, banning snares, and including animal welfare in the National Curriculum.

The charity also wants more landlords and housing associations to allow tenants to keep cats, instead of being forced to rehome them.
