Rib's engine won't start
Two people have been rescued after becoming stranded on Dawlish Warren when their boat broke down.
Exmouth's RNLI was called just before 10 p.m. on Friday following a call from the coastguard.
The occupants of a four-metre rib were unable to start its engine, so the inshore lifeboat crew towed the boat, with the two people on board, to Exmouth Marina.
No one was injured or required medical attention.
Inshore lifeboat helm Harry Griffin, said “The occupants of the rib were well equipped for emergencies and it was very unfortunate that when they came to leave Dawlish Warren a fault developed on their outboard motor leaving them stranded.
"We were happy to help and pleased that the situation ended safely.”
As well as Mr Griffin, other Exmouth RNLI volunteers who worked on the shout were Ed Thomas, Ed Steele, Rick Newcombe, Neil Cannon, Karl Halford, Rory Carrig, Jason Luff and Jake Richards.
