Devon and Cornwall police are calling on the public to help them prevent illegal raves over the bank holiday weekend. An operation to disrupt the events begins today.
An intelligence-led operation is taking place, with special patrols in areas seen to be likely sites for illegal gatherings.
It builds on a series of similar exercises last year and also uses information from organisations including Dartmoor National Park, the Forestry Commission and the Environment Agency.
Police say the events are dangerous, cause environmental damage and divert resources from regular policing.
Anyone who sees vehicles gathering in an isolated site, or people assembling sound equipment, is asked to report it.
