'Specials' to be recruited from Devon's villages

Members of Devon's rural communities are being encouraged to put themselves forward for training as Special Constables... as part of new plans to improve policing in the countryside.


The new Police and Crime Commissioner is responding to calls for a more visible police presence ... to prevent thefts of vehicles and equipment, rustling, fly-tipping and other rural crimes.

But Tony Hogg says people must also help prevent crime through schemes such as Farm  Watch.
