Family cruise business passes to son Jake
"All around the Bay....ayyy," became a clarion call on Exmouth's Esplanade through the seventies and eighties, when Tony Stuart began his eponymous cruise business.
From small beginnings in 1968, Stuart Line Cruises has become a leading East Devon enterprise, passing to Tony and Zena's son Ian. But now Ian, in what the Devon Top Attractions organisation call Mr Exmouth, has died, aged just 56. It says for 52 years: "the business grew and grew with ever bigger boats sailing throughout the year from the docks to become a dominant force. Ian’s legacy will continue as Stuart Line Cruises is passed to his son Jake Stuart, seeing a third generation of Stuarts to take the helm."
Ian Stuart lost his battle with cancer after a year. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
