Happy New Year Gulls fans - and let's hope this is a year that brings goals, goals, goals, and that promotion we are all so desperate for. Torquay United start 2026 with a long trip to Dover Athletic - and following that frustrating 0-0 draw at Bath City on Saturday, a win in Kent would really go down well.
Manager Paul Wotton said his team was 'tentative' at Bath where they had chances but couldn't find a way through. But with players like Louis Dennis in great form - and Matt Jay doing his bit - and with others coming back from injury, could the start of 2026 be one to remember.
Put the foot down, no need for brakes - it's time to be ruthless in front of goal and tight at the back. Pass the ball forward and play teams off the park.
