We're off up Wembley Way this week as we celebrate 30 years since the Gulls became the first Devon team to play beneath the iconic twin towers of the old stadium. On May 28 1989 the Gulls lined up against Bolton Wanderers in the final of the Sherpa Van Trophy, marking the latest stage in a remarkable turnaround in fortunes since the dark days of 1987 when relegation beckoned.
