Jake Taylor hails City Fit Club "fantastic" and "very beneficial"

City Fit Club, a local group aimed at over 30's who want to lose weight, welcomed Exeter City captain Jake Taylor and vice-captain Jayden Stockley to one of their sessions last week.

The event is run by Exeter's leading health and wellbeing charity Exeter City Community Trust and held at St James Park.

Jake was pleased to see the work that City Fit Club do on Monday evening’s and believes it is a good initiative to get more people active. He said: “I didn’t realise it went on here, so coming here and seeing people working out, trying to get fitter, is really nice to see.

“It’s fantastic. The amount of people doing it shows it’s very beneficial to a lot of people. To come here and work in the stadium is also fantastic, so it’s credit to everyone involved and all the people that have turned up to do it.”

The City captain was keen to explain how important nutrition is to leading a fit and active lifestyle, even more so as a professional athlete.

“For any athlete, the nutrition side is really important,” said Jake. “You need to try and stay as healthy as possible for as long as possible. It’s important to enjoy yourself after exercise but being a footballer, you need to get on as many good, healthy, foods as possible.”
