A one and a half million pound revamp of Dawlish's Strand area begins today.
It's designed to make it more car-friendly and shopper-friendly, both for local residents and visitors.
The work, lasting until the end of April, includes widening the north side of the street, removing the stone wall between the Strand and the Lawn and creating a new footpath.
There'll also be traffic calming measures and new street furniture.
