Award-winning playwright and performer Malaika Kegode's autobiographical gig-theatre show, Outlier, is making its debut in Devon
The show explores themes of isolation, addiction, and friendship faced by young people in rural areas. This genre-bending production combines theatre, poetry, and live music by Bristol prog-rock band Jakabol.
This homecoming is particularly special for Kegode, as the story is deeply rooted in her personal experiences growing up in Devon.
It also marks a new direction for the Theatre Royal as they incorporate more gig theatre into their programming.
Tickets are available now and there's even a post-show event on October 3rd featuring new work by Malaika and an open mic for local artists.
