15 years ago today Exeter held Manchester United to a 0-0 draw
Exeter City, who were playing in the Conference at the time, held Manchester United to a goalless draw at Old Trafford 15 years ago today.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson named Paul Scholes and Cristiano Ronaldo in his side - but the duo were unable to breach City's defence in front of more than 67,000 spectators.
A few weeks later, however, United avoided a major upset by beating the Grecians in the replay at St James Park. Wayne Rooney and Ronaldo scored the goals.
Despite the defeat, the grecians benefited from a healthy £1 million following television rights and sponsorship.
