Nearly 10 million pounds is to be spent on work to repair the erosion at Dawlish Warren and build new flood defences.
An exhibition's taking place this afternoon with staff from the Environment Agency and Teignbridge council on hand to answer questions.
The warren, which forms a natural barrier protecting Dawlish during high tides, has lost a hundred tonnes of sand over the past year, and some of that will be brought back from offshore.
A new wall will also be built across the spit, and the timber groynes will be repaired.
The public exhibition is at the Langstone Cliff hotel from 2pm till 8pm
