Four fire engines mobilised to ‘quickly’ deal with the blaze
Fire fighters from East Devon were called out to Woodbury Common on Wednesday night (17th March) to deal with a 15-feet high heathland blaze.
The fire service received 'multiple calls' reporting the incident, which is thought to have started accidentally. Four fire engines were mobilised from Exmouth and Sidmouth before arriving at Woodbury Common shortly after 9:30pm.
The fire was fortunately dealt with very quickly by the fire crew.
Crews later checked the landscape with a thermal imaging camera and applied foam to the scene before leaving it safe.
