Exeter residents are being urged to learn a few simple phrases in British Sign Language by the city's Royal Academy for Deaf Education.
Today marks the 11th anniversary of BSL being officially recognised as a language, and the Academy wants to raise awareness of it and increase public understanding of its wider work with deaf people.
It's created an online video teaching people how to introduce themselves in BSL, spell out their name and ask for someone else's name.
