Armed police are to be put on patrol in Devon and Cornwall for the first time - in response to the UK's terror threat level being raised to critical after the Manchester suicide bombing. They will be seen in Exeter and many other parts of the force area.
Devon and Cornwall police are emphasising that their decision to put armed police on patrol for the first time is not a result of any intelligence on a terror threat in the area.
They want the public to remain calm and go about their daily business as usual, but to be vigilant and report anything suspicious.
