Boys wear skirts to school in protest at Exeter school

A group of Exeter schoolboys who have been banned from wearing shorts in the hot weather have turned up to class today in girls' skirts.

It is thought that around 20 boys attended ISCA Academy wearing skirts in protest at current school rules which don't allow shorts.

ISCA's head teacher reportedly told parents the school couldn't change its rules without consulting all parents and students.

It meant boys had to wear long trousers and the older pupils had to wear blazers in the recent hot weather.

One angry mother said her son almost passed out from the heat.

Yesterday five boys turned up in uniform skirts - with one of them getting told off because his was too short.

In a statement, the school has said that with hotter weather becoming more normal, they would be happy to consider a change for the future.
