Traders in Exeter's Fore Street have launched a crowd-funding campaign to try to save the distinctive mural, which leads to their area.
The mural was created by Devon artist Andrew Stacey in 1979 - but the building it's on, now needs to be repaired and there are plans to paint over it.
Now local traders are hoping to raise thirty thousand pounds to get the mural restored.
Mattie Richardson, chair of the Fore Street Collective, says it's a vital feature of their area.
