Huge car parking charge increases have been agreed by Exeter City Council, at a meeting last night.
The council claim the rises are to help tackle congestion in the city, but could help boost revenue by over £983,000.
The changes could leave some commuters up to £20 a week worse off in some car parks and season tickets are also going up up by £300 per year.
Tim Jones, Chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Business Council, says local retailers could lose out as a result of the increases.
