Exeter residents have until Thursday to comment on a review of the city's 20-miles-per-hour zones.
The county council has been looking at the areas where the speed limit's in place to make sure they comply with new legislation.
There have to be signs or road markings at regular intervals, otherwise police aren't able to enforce the restriction.
The new traffic orders may also see some 20mphs zones removed because they're short streets or cul-de-sacs where people already drive slowly - but the council will reconsider this if local residents want the limit to stay in place.
