A scheme in Exeter looks set to benefit from Government plans announced this week, to fund renewable community energy projects.
Exeter Community Energy is a social enterprise which plans to create a rooftop solar power installation.
The £150,000 cost will be raised through the sale of shares to local residents and the project will also generate extra income through the sale of electricity to the national grid.
This money will be re-invested in other energy efficiency projects which help combat fuel poverty.
A public meeting on the project is taking place next Tuesday evening at 6.45pm at the Meeting Room at Stephens Scown solicitors in Southernhay.http://www.ecoe.org.uk
