More than 350 people who objected to plans for new student accommodation in Exeter will have to await a decision from city planners.
Exeter City councillors last night postponed making a decision on a proposed student development on the eastern edge of the university's Streatham Campus.
It would create up to 16 high rise blocks on the site, accommodating up to 1,300 students.
But many residents are opposed to the scheme.
Exeter City Council have asked the university to work more closely with local people to come up with a more acceptable design.
