Life for Daniel Lynch
A Cornish man has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his brother.
The attack took place in the kitchen of their mother's home on Bosmeor Park in Illogan Highway, near Redruth, in November of last year.
Daniel Lynch, who's 39, had been drinking and trying to obtain drugs, and later that night, attacked his brother after the two argued over medication.
Judge Carr said "that only Daniel Lynch knows exactly what happened that night, but that there was clearly an argument or disagreement.
He described the attack, during which Daniel Lynch used a hammer and knife to inflict multiple blows to his brother's head, as a "sustained, frenzied, and brutal assault."
"Daniel Lynch then made significant attempts to clean up the scene and destroy evidence."
He denied murder but was found guilty at Truro Crown Court. He will serve a minimum of 20 years in prison.
