Devon County Council warns Devon drivers to take care as temperatures fall below zero
The council is askingpeople to avoid driving through flood water and to be aware that ice is expected to form on roads. There is also a risk of ice on the salting network due to the amount of rain Devon experienced lately.
The rain badly effected Exeter City's home game at St James Park on Boxing Day. Due to a waterlogged pitch, the match was abandoned, the referee made the decision during half time.
On the roads, Boxing Day was partially bad for accidents, with some vehicles aqua-planing when hitting floodwater at speed.
The Met Office have issued a further two official flood and ice warnings for Wednesday and Thursday. Due to recent accidents, Devon County Council urge people to drive with care over the next few days.
The public should also be aware that some roads could remain blocked.
