A joint operation's being launched between Exeter College and the city council to tackle litter in two local parks.
A small number of students from the college are believed to be responsible for leaving rubbish in Bury Meadows and Northernhay Gardens.
The two organisations have agreed to operate joint patrols in the parks to identify the culprits and ask them to stop.
If that doesn't work, the council may take formal enforcement action in the shape of fines, and Exeter College could also take disciplinary action against any students who are found to be involved.
