The police are out on Devon's roads stopping motorists who use a mobile behind the wheel with ten people caught on the first day of the campaign.
Operations Vortex was launched yesterday by Devon and Cornwall Police to raise awareness of the dangers of using a phone whilst driving, but to also catch those who break the law.
So far, officers from across the two counties have stopped ten people for using a mobile; they also made four arrests for motorists drink or drug driving.
There were six excess speed offences, with three people caught driving over 100 miles an hour.
Two cannabis warnings were issued with one person receiving a fixed penalty notice for possession .
The operation continues today.
