Campaigners for better rail services throughout the South West say they'll be looking very carefully at the report published by Network Rail this week, on the options for the vulnerable coastal line at Dawlish.
The report, commissioned by the Government, looked at various inland routes but concluded that they all offered poor value for money.
Exeter based councillor Andrew Leadbetter is chairman of the South West Peninsula Rail Task Force.
He says the Government must accept that local railways need significant investment.
