A new watersports centre for Exmouth has moved a step closer after East Devon district council signed a deal with a developer.
Exeter-based sustainable property company Grenadier Estates has been working with the council for several years on plans for the not-for-profit centre, as the centrepiece of the seafront's regeneration.
The project has been delayed by legal issues with one of the tenants on the seafront - which the council says have now been resolved.
The watersports centre will be built on a former car park on Queen's Drive and the road will be re-routed so that it can front directly onto the beach.
