The deputy head of Westexe Technology college in Exeter has now resigned.
Beverely Maddern has been on sick leave for several weeks.
It follows an audit of the school's finances and management by devon County Council.
It was revealed that Mrs Maddern earned £85,000 as deputy head, and husband Steve £150,000 as the Head. He resigned last week.
