A leading Devon based charity believes a 1,000 people a year in the county will soon be diagnosed with loss of sight.
At the moment 35,000 people suffer from the condition and it's thought that number will rise to 43,000 by 2020.
Devon in Sight, who are based at Topsham, have just held their annual meeting.
Their Chief Executive, Grahame Flynne, says they need to recruit more people to help them.
